1. Go through my fic index and pick out a sentence from one of my stories.

2. I'll try to guess what story it's from (and, if you want, I'll give you some backstory or DVD-commentary for the excerpt).

3. If I guess wrong, you get to ask me for a drabble (character, situation, prompt word, whatever. Supposed to be a drabble, but really, like I'd ever manage to keep anything down to 500 words!)

Also: since when did dreamwidth get a 'choose random icon' button? How much of a good idea is that?! I can never choose which icon I need, and now it'll do it for me :)

Now this is a fic I could ramble on about for ages! Starting with how, oh my God, writing explicit porn on the train is not a good idea! But the line: John's thing isn't for being ordered around, it's for someone who *could* but doesn't, which was a distinction I wanted to make. And I love the idea of Jack sort of feeling John out with this, figuring out what he wants and actually asking what John's getting out of this, or what he wants to get out of it.

Thanks for the additional comment! I like that about this fic. It's so common in fanfic (and profic too) where the measure of love or sexual connection is supposed to be proved with telepathic mind-reading of the other person's desires, which is just so . . . LAME.

I think when you're having sex with a subordinate, relying on telepathic mind reading to get it done should be the first thing to go!

Pride cometh before a fall...I was all 'ha, I know my own fic,' with the first two, and then you stumped me. But I do like the idea that Lorne knows he's good at what he does and is kind of proud of himself for being reliable and not crazy.

Your choice: John/Cam or John & Sam or Sam & Vala. Or anything about one of the four of them. Unless you're in the mood to write another fandom? (I can give you a semi-random prompt to go with this, if you want more inspiration.)

Let's go with the multiple prompt approach:

1) John/Cam - clandestine (and feel free to go happy if you like, because I get the impression you've written enough depressing John/Cam recently)

2) John & Sam - something primarily in a professional context, while Sam's in Atlantis, preferably with the two of them not too much at odds with each other

3) Sam & Vala - conspiracy (interpreted any way you like)

If you prefer, you can mix-and-match other combinations too (Sam & Cam, Cam & Vala), but then you're on your own for prompts ;)

It does - apparently I mostly remember my own fic better than I thought.

Though, interestingly, the other one I couldn't get is Lorne as well. I could understand if they were both Sheppard, since he's everywhere in my fic, but I didn't think I'd written enough about Lorne to start forgetting it (or indeed to start confusing the two of them!)

You're a prolific writer. If you could pick out every single line of your work... I'd be more than impressed! And yes, I thoroughly agree with you on the holding hands aspect :)

I'll leave it open to you, but John/Cam, or Colby/Lorne, or hey, if you manage to get both couples in one piece, even better! But either pairing, and them being around fellow canon character(s), except where they don't have to hide the relationship. Bonus points if it's set somewhere outside of their appartments!

If that's too specific, then the prompt can be "making a decent cup of tea".

I am very excited....I am also going to refrain from running over to read it a) because I have not read the original piece yet and b) I have 7 articles to read for my thesis still today.

This one's probably pretty easy:

Cam couldn't imagine, now, how he'd ever thought they might be on a date; they had the same old friends vibe that he recognized from his own friendship with Sam.

It's from Never As Bad As Anticipated, from movie night, and Cam's talking about Lorne and Cadman. My favourite scene in the whole fic, even two years later - I love the Atlantis community. And then this is a nod to my desire to have explicitly non-UST male/female friendships in my fic, so if anyone even thinks that two people might be a couple, there has to be a correction.
