Quick question...

Huh-apparently you can tell from my flist if I'm writing fic, because it's always peppered with questions when I am. Maybe I need to start looking these things up myself...

Sadly, I don't have time to watch 8 seasons of SG1 in order to find out, this time, so I'm throwing myself at your mercy, again.

Has SG1 or Atlantis ever introduced someone who speaks Ancient, preferably a civilian, other than Jackson, Weir and the Athosians? I think O'Neill does after getting an Ancient thing on his head(?), but it needs to be someone non-military.

Personally, I'm all for making someone up, but I don't want to make up someone who already exists.

Many thanks!

Hey, I think Harry Maybourne could at least read ancient by season 8... he did in "It's Good to be King". That's the only one I can think of...

Not so far as I'm aware, but you could probably make a good case for Sarah Gardner learning Ancient, either during her time as Osiris' host, or after that fact. There's also Lieutenant Satterfield (played by Grace Park), should you decide that you can use a military officer instead. She speaks and reads some Goa'uld; it's a perfectly reasonable conclusion that she'd try to learn Ancient as well since it would likely come in useful more and more over the years.
