I love this, of course, because I, too, hate the Rodney-can-do-no-wrong trope. I love the way you managed to tie together Doranda, the lemon incident, and "Irresistible," and the fact that John was finally allowed to get justifiably angry. I'm also fascinated by Carson's attempt to make excuses for Rodney, which I suppose makes sense if they're meant to be best friends.
