I was getting farther with Camfic idea 2, so I ran with it for a while, and they were really kind of happy for about the first, oh, 3,000 words. BAM! There goes la carpet. then it developed a plot, dammit.
Yeah, that sounds like mine - 1500 words of goofy teenager hood, then, woosh, sharp left turn into angst and crisis and disaster, and it just gets worse from there.
However, Lorne Must Not Die(Maiming is an option)! I am prepared to talk you off the ledge. :)
Phew. I dunno - I was at a thing a couple of weeks ago with a lot of fake explosions which really upset the kid sitting by me, and ever since then, I can't get the idea of John and Cam with Alex at someone's funeral and the guns making Alex cry out of my head. Which is no excuse to kill Lorne, really, and really shouldn't be in the story anyway, because killing someone off is more than a passing comment. I'm taling myself out of it by reminding myself that if I kill him, I can't have him and Cadman meet up, which is working so far :o)
