Oh, I love this! This vision of the afterlife reminds me of the Japanese movie, After Life. Well, except in that movie, the afterlife consisted of a real memory rather than an artificial one. But the idea of John going back to a more innocent time while still getting to keep Cam is charming, and I love the slow way John sees through things, and his willingness to fight the artificial reality, which we've seen before in canon. And I absolutely love the fact that John chooses the real Cam, even if it means suffering, rather than the simple illusion.
