That is a bit odd, really. I have a tendency to have a few vague, broad ideas - Cam with a big family, Lorne technically not being a pilot, Cam and John knowing each other somehow from before the program - but I vary the details quite a bit as I need to so that it fits a particular story or series. There's no way a single backstory could accommodate all the different stories a person could write. The Cam who's got one brother and a mom and dad in Kansas doesn't work for the same stories as the Cam who's got a huge family in North Carolina that's occasionally a bit creepy and cult-like; the John who went through AFROTC at MIT isn't the same John who got his dad's buddy the senator to sponsor him to the Academy.
