Oh this was wonderful! I love how you got the the exact right mix of bittersweet and unlooked for contentment. Alex is such a sweetie - Jennifer said it perfectly - he needed John more than Atlantis did and John is such an honorable, good man that he'd turn himself inside out trying to live up to that. I'm glad that he gets the joy of a family out of the deal and I just adore this verse!! Thanks so much for sharing.
