1. Okay, much as I liked this episode, which is really a lot, I like my sci-fi without tentacle monsters *shudder*
2. That said, I loved Keller with the tentacle monster, especially the way she looks like she's seconds from bursting into tears when they just turn out the lights and leave her there. Would a reassuring, 'we'll be back for you,' have killed them? Or even putting her back into a coma so she didn't know what was going on?
3. Teyla and Keller, and baby Torrin. So, so much love for Teyla in this episode, being all reassuring and rescuing Zelenka and giving orders to the marines. Someone's got a screen cap of her looking over her shoulder at Keller and smiling right before she leaves with Torrin, right? Because that is a *very* pretty shot.
3. Random comment: for a city that's always trying to conserve power, and which has a very small population, what the hell's with every light in the city being on all the time? They can't possibly live that far out from the central tower, not when there's only a few hundred people living there.
4. Yay for explanations of where people have gone - Kanaan and the hybrids are being cured! Carson is fixed (and going back to Earth, please God never to be seen again)! People miss Sam! Lorne... okay, Lorne is busy being turned into a tentacle monster, which must be additionally fun with a broken leg. Him and Sheppard - not off to a good start this season.
5. I know I said this last week, but someone wrap Sheppard in a blanket and put him to bed - he looks *exhausted*. And two stomach wounds within a month cannot be good; neither can crashing a jumper into a wall, and, need we remind you, Sheppard, that Carson's last untested retrovirus was responsible for you turning into a bug?? Not that I didn't love his face when Carson said this one might kill him - like, stop trying to reassure me, cos it's not working. Also his face when he found Keller, kind of stunned and creeped out and... yeah, that's how I'd be looking in his place.
6. We'll just skip over where Teyla disappeared to in the second half of the episode (seriously, one of her best friends is being injected with a potentially deadly virus and she's, what, taking a nap?!) in favour of pointing out how much I love Ronon and the way he paces about when Sheppard flatlines, like he wants to do *something* anything, and knows he can't. Also how blase he is about restraining Sheppard - more than we needed to know about the two of them, I think :)
7. Reserving judgement on Woolsey, though I will say that he totally knows Sheppard and how to manipulate him. And I have to say, Sheppard wouldn't be my first choice for someone to reassure me about having to break the rules - it's what he *does*.
8. I know this is immensely shallow but, what's up with the multitude of different uniform colours? Have there always been green ones? Not that they aren't pretty, of course. On the subject of which - much as I like the sudden proliferation of female characters, could we maybe give them names as they're introduced.
9. So far, very much liking this season, though if this could be the last of the tentacle monsters, that'd be nice.
