This was great. I feel like I should try to explain how wonderful each and every one of them is, but there's no way I could do it coherently. I especially like the tiny bits of interaction with their teams and families. I also like the way Cam is the more romantic and grounded one, which is something I think John really needs in a partner because he's got so little other than Atlantis and his team.
The two bits about the 48,000-year gap-that-wasn't really struck home (and for that matter the bit with Unending), especially since I've been thinking about it myself. It must have been horrible for partner John might have left behind, especially so for someone not McKay. He at least had some goal to work towards, while anyone else wouldn't have had even that.
Finally, this bit: 43. They only have one joint mission between SG1 and Sheppard’s team, and everyone agrees that this is probably a good thing. Everyone’s used to missions involving capture, alien-mandated sex rituals, accidental almost-marriage, sex pollen, and near-death. They just don’t usually all come together in one four-hour mission.
is both hilarious and all too true. I can't imagine why they thought a joint mission was remotely a good idea in the first place.
