I signed up for lgbtfest (surprise surprise) which this year has a one prompt per person rule, and I'm not good at making decisions! But I did, and signed up to do:
811. Crossover: Stargate Atlantis/Stargate SG-1, John Sheppard, The problem with having Cameron Mitchell for an ex is that he feels qualified to offer dating advice

Though I was incredibly torn between this and scrollgirl's Cam and Carolyn church bake sale prompt - one step from flipping a coin, but hopefully someone else will sign up to write it.

I'm thinking my fic will be set in the alternate universe in Almost But Not Quite, where Cam and Weir are civilian vice-commander and commander respectively and Sheppard takes over from Sumner. Mainly because I want to write more of Elizabeth and Cam working together, and because it's half set up as a universe in which being gay isn't against the rules, though I'm undecided on whether to keep that or not - though heaven knows who Sheppard will be getting dating advice *about*... well, I'll worry about that when I get to it.

I think the question might be more "who wouldn't he be giving dating advice about?" Never mind if John is actually interested or not, Cam needs to make sure he sees the many, many possibilities around him.

Is Cam gay or bi in this 'verse? Just wondering if you would be interested in writing a Het, Not Straight fic (which is to say het fic about queer characters). If Cam is bi, he could date Keller or Cadman or even Weir--or on the flip-side, he could date, like, Ronon :D

I can't see Cam with Keller or Cadman, I think maybe because of the age gap.Not that there's anything wrong with the age gap, it just doesn't work for me. Weir though, maybe...
