Made my word count, finished the story, so - Choose from one of the below memes, and I'll answer it.

a. Give me a pairing(/threesome/moresome) and I'll tell you my favorite get-together plot

b. Pick a character and I will give and explain the top five ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them

c. Tell me a pairing, and I will tell you:

1. When or if I started shipping them:
2. What I think their challenge is:
3. What makes me happy about them:
4. What makes me sad about them:
5. What moment I wish had never happened:
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

a) Lorne, Cam and John. I realise I owe you feedback for something you wrote for me, but I've been trying to be really pro-active, and focused on job hunting recently. This is a good reminder I really need to go back and comment. But, for now, if you are so inclined, the above-named trio :)

I gotta admit, the one thing that intrigues me most about your get-together scenarios is John's mom and her partner. I like that you have that backstory, but I've always assumed his mom was dead based on "Letters from Pegasus". OTOH, I've written John's dad as surviving his heart-attack, so why not have his mom be alive? But I really like the idea of John having one parent, at least, as well as his step-mom, who is supportive about his relationship with Cam.

And it's not exactly romantic, but it's been six years at this point, and they're way past the classic romance moments. Because Ronon, of course, says yes :)

I can absolutely see this. I do think Ronon has a romantic streak, but that it would manifest itself with John differently than with Keller--it's gendered, to a degree, if that makes sense.

3. She loves the concept of a relationship with Jack O'Neill more than she loves the reality of it, and she knew that going in. It hasn't been meant to be for years, if it ever was. She's not as sad about that as she always thought she would be

Yes, that's it exactly.

Really like your other thoughts too.

I love her confidence in #1, and I love #4, because yeah, being the first commander rather than the replacement has to be easier in so many ways.

I like that whole John/Ronon get-together story, John just coming right out and saying something once it's safe to do so.

(I'd have found that final scene with John all alone so depressing if I hadn't imagine him driving over to Cam's place afterward!)

I love the idea that Lorne knows and accepts he's gay, and keeps it private but doesn't actively try to cover it up. That seems to suit the character, and I love the integrity of it.

Ug, my million apologies for a slow, slow reply.

Yes, where is a Wraith attack when you need it? :D Because never mind feelings, but mix friends, and colleagues, and pre-existing relationships, and I can see it causes mental meltdown all round.

Sleeping first, then sex? Ha. Because anything else just *would* have been too conventional.

Nice. Really nice. Plus, I'm mostly a sucker for the happily-ever-after ending. Thanks for this.

#1 and #3. Spot on.
