I've got deeply ancient comments to reply to (I'm sorry! I suck! This is what happens when I'm not at work looking for something to do for five minutes before the budget makes my head explode!), a five things ficlet to link to, a shortish fic to post, and a medium length fic to read through and post. All of which I'll totally get to in the next day or so, I swear.
Until then, have a meme:
Leave the name of a character/person from a fandom you know I'm in, and I will tell you--
* How I FEEEEEL about this character
* All the people I ship romantically with this character
* My non-romantic OTP for this character
* My unpopular opinion about this character
* One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon

What, me? Predictable?

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Recently, Ronon and Colby. Not at the same time - though that could be interesting! Also Sheppard and Mitchell (once at the same time)
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Lorne/Cadman BFFs! Which, do they even speak in canon? Ever? But they'd be such good friends, and they'd just love each other in a great friends only kind of way, with no sex or UST or anything at all
My unpopular opinion about this character: He's not straight. Which, considering the *outcry* when PTB suggested this might become canon, I think is an unpopular opinion. Also, given the number of people who are very invested in pairing him with Teyla or Cadman.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: I would have killed for him to come out on the show, I really would. Well, anyone - a canon gay character on a sci fi show? Yes please - but since Lorne seemed like he might be intended to... Also, though it would have taken him off Atlantis which would have been :(, the guy really deserved a promotion at some point!

Yup. Just one of the many, many reasons why Lorne is brilliant. He recognises the importance of food.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Sheppard, mostly. I don't know why any more, really, but they work for me. Also, Lorne on occasion, and Ronon for Christmas ficlets.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Mitchell and Carter (hmm, the second one that's a male/female friendship). I always imagine them having been in each other's lives for years and knowing each other really well, and all of each other secrets - kind of like Lorne and Cadman in a decade's time :)
My unpopular opinion about this character: I like him better than O'Neil. Sorry.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: This is my John/Cam heart talking, but I wish we'd seen more of him and John together, on one of the episodes where the Atlantis crew are on Earth.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Mainly Cam Mitchell, or Ronon. And I really want to write something with him and Steve McGarrett from the new Hawaii Five-0, though that's just because that show is my new obsession. Less recently, Lorne, Rodney McKay, Ford, and Holland.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: At the moment, Keller, mainly as a result of the fic I just finished. More usually, Teyla or Ronon.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I like him better than Rodney, and I don't think John is a bad guy who torments Rodney and doesn't deserve him. Nor is John in love with Rodney and pining, and after five years, John has more self-respect than to be Rodney's rebound guy from Keller.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: I wish he'd got a happy ending like everyone else at the end of season 5, and I wish we'd occasionally seen the after effects of everything that happened to him

Please do this. Please.

I am sooo looking forward to this fic!
Also, what you said about wishing John got a happy ending. I hear that

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I don't really ship Ford all that much (mainly because I keep writing gen fic about him getting rescued or rescuing himself), but Kerys from the Childhood Planet, Lorne, though never as a main pairing and only in AUs. Sheppard, but that's even more awkward than shipping Sheppard with Lorne.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: No-one he actually ever spoke to in canon, but totally Cadman, assuming he'd survived. I like the idea of all the young officers on Atlantis bonding and hanging out together and comparing the wacky stuff that happens to them
My unpopular opinion about this character: I thought he was a decent character, and as much as I love Ronon, I wish we could have kept both of them, I'm not glad that he got replaced. I think the show could have done with a few more people like Ford.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: I wish he'd been rescued, or that they'd at least made it clear that John had accepted he was dead. But Atlantis is crap at giving its characters decent endings - they seem to like to write off characters in the most traumatic way possible

I suspect it's because they want to keep their cake and eat it too. On the one hand, they want to kill of characters for drama and angst, but on the other they'd really like it if they could still potentially be returned.

(If that's because you don't have anything to say about her, feel free to sub in one of the women from SG-1. Sam, Vala, Carolyn...)

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Carter, massively, especially if they're both on Atlantis. Cadman, though mainly in a Cadman-has-a-crush way. Teyla, especially in the early seasons.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Probably Teyla, though I'd like to have a go at writing a story about her and John running Atlantis and bonding.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't know that I have one. I liked her as leader of Atlantis, actually, even if there were moments that I didn't so much (but then, that's true of all the characters), and I wish we'd kept her and Carter, they would have been great together. Is that an unpopular opinion?
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: Well, I wish she hadn't died, and I hated the way they dragged that out. I wish she'd left Atlantis to take on an awesome job with Homeworld Security, if she had to leave

I think she might have worked better if they'd done more show than tell with her. We kept hearing about what a great diplomat she was, but we hardly ever got to see it! Possibly because it's not as exciting as watching Sheppard and McKay run around blowing things up.

True, especially later on - I mean, she negotiated for nuclear weapons from the Genii at the end of season 1, which was a pretty awesome diplomatic moment, but then by The Game in season 3, she was having to be rescued from diplomatic missteps by John and Rodney when in doubt, blow it up.
