So, as you probably don't remember, I had rat problems in my flat over the summer, which were eventually dealt with. Unfortunately, it then turned cold, and a new rat moved in.
And, a few days ago, blew out the electricity in my flat when he touched two live wires and electrocuted himself. I'll spare you the rest of the gory details - suffice it to say I had a complete freak out and rang a friend to rescue me, which she and her partner duly did (and they brought me eggs from their chickens as well!)
All of which is a long preamble to: I'd been thinking about moving anyway, as I've been here two years, it's starting to get a bit small, I'm starting to want to move on etc, but the rat thing pushed me over the edge, and so I'm actively flat hunting. Which seems to have triggered my pre-move clear-out instinct. So far, I've got a bag of soft toys for the cancer research charity shop, and two plastic crates of books for the Amnesty bookshop. Who knew I had so many books I didn't want to read?!
Next up: the two junk drawers, followed by under the bed (which I'm putting off, because I'm scared of finding either spiders or dead rats. I really hope not both *shudder*). Then the under stairs cupboard - God knows what lurks under there - and then the linen closet. Since I did clothes and jewellery over the summer, I think that might be it.
Probably just in time to move!
