(no subject)

I've now got eleven whole days off, in a row. I think this may be the longest I've had as holiday since I was living with my parents. That's over a decade!

Anyway, I was going to go away, but then I got the flu about the time I would have started sorting it out, and I'd have had to pack, and all my things are here and... yeah, that's not happening. So I'm staying at home, and being a tourist in my own city. I've got a cheap ticket to the circus (yes, the circus really is in town), I won two tickets to see the Philharmonia Orchestra, I have a voucher for half price demo of blue glass making and to have a go at blowing my own glass thing.

I'm going to the zoo to see the flamingoes, the South African penguins, and the pygmy hippos; I'm going to the Botanical Gardens; I'm driving a couple of hours to Watchet to make sure the sea's still there; I'm going to sit by the river and look for cormorants.

I've also got to finish a mobile I'm making for a family friend whose wife is having a baby any day now, and decorate a glass bowl for my mum for her birthday. Possibly start making a felt rock monster family for a friend's birthday. finish three fics I'm partway through, and start my queerfest fics.

All in all, probably for the best that I'm not going away!
