How is it that even my 'everyone thinks we're doing it' femslash cliche fic, which should be rife with wacky misunderstandings followed by hot sex, has instead turned into serious, mildly-angsty fic?

Though it may still contain hot sex.

This was going to be a silly, off-world adventure in which Cadman and Teyla ended up having to get married. How did it turn into this?

I swear, there's an angst demon in my computer. Either that or dissertation stress is getting to me.

Okay apparently i haven't been paying attention cause this is the first I've heard of this fic and all I can think is "Holy shit this sounds awesome!" Plus you know most of your fics do that. They start out one way when then suddenly they're taking off in a totally different direction. Like my Stargate fic (which is halfway typed again! Whoo! Stupid missing jumpdrive) cause it started out Cam/John and suddenly turned into John/Cam/Jack with me trying to pull out my hair wondering how that happened and why john would insist on being insane! However I have recently wondered into femslash land again (Femslash is the only slash I read in the X-Men universe oddly enough) so I look forward to this 'starts out funny then turns angsty fic' of which you speak.

No, you haven't missed anything - I'm done with my big bang fic till it comes back from my beta-readers, so I'm writing some stuff for other challenges I signed up for, most of which aren't due till July.

The thing with this one is, I intended to write Teyla/Cadman wacky hijinks, forced to get married, but what I've actually started writing is Cadman/Simpson, during The Return, gossip and worry and angst. It's for a cliche challenge, but it's not really cliche, and for the prompt 'everyone thinks we're doing it', but doesn't exactly fit the prompt either.

It also doesn't really start out funny.

I don't know what happened!

Sounds like my computer. At the moment its all "la la la la la" being happy and the fic I'm writing is still kinda fluffy... I know there's a lot of angst hiding out in there.

I'm pretty sure I'm congenitally disposed to write angst not happy stuff :)
