I would say I don't love Owen much at all, but then I cried buckets when he died at the end of season 2, so I suppose there must be something. I love Owen because, despite everything else, he's a good doctor, and because by the end of season 2 he'd become a really good person.

I love Kaylee because she's so happy and cheerful, and because she's such a tomboy, which I find incredibly sexy, and because she's the most real of all the women on Firefly, because she can't shoot and she gets scared but she's also got boundless enthusiasm for her life.

Tel me why you love Horatio Hornblower.

Just reading that I realise that she is a character that avoids cliché. Most tomboys in media would be able to shoot and be really tough, but she isn't just one note.

Yeah, that's why I like Kaylee so much - she's got Inara's really 'girly' side but she's also got elements of Zoe's more 'boyish' side when it comes to engines, if not to guns

I love Colby because he's sweet - he's good with victims, and he's good with Megan after the DoJ thing, and with Charlie after he's nearly run off the road, and with David and the kid who plays chess. And because he comes across as being gay on screen, which, since there aren't many actual gay characters on mainstream tv, is a reason to love him in my book, and because he and David make a show with plots and maths that I don't understand really enjoyable to watch.

Hmm, since no-one's asked about Lorne, you talk about him instead.

Ooh, Cadman. I love Cadman because she's tough and snarky and she doesn't put up with any grief from anyone else, not even when she's stuck in Rodney's head. And also because she's a woman in uniform with a gun, and sometimes I'm really shallow :o)

Tell me why you love John Sheppard.

I kind of fell a little bit out of love with Sheppard during s4-5, so I'm just gonna draw on what I can remember loving about him in the earlier seasons. I love John because he's loyal as hell, smart but doesn't flaunt it, doesn't let the stupid rules dictate his life and a complete closet dork. His hair is also extremely mezmerizing.

I love Cam because he's still so excited about exploring new worlds and doing new things, and because he's actually good at dealing with the people around him, unlike pretty much everyone else on stargate. And also for the look on his face when Landry starts telling him about the whistling duck, which is possibly my favourite moment of the entire series :o)

I love Nate because he worries so much about his guys and about doing the right thing and about being a good officer, even when it's not possible to do the right thing by all of those.

I actually love Brad for most of the same reasons, and because he tries really hard to make people feel better about what they're doing.

Tell me why you love Lorne, or any one of your oc's.

I love Lorne for his ability to appreciate the absurdity of life (and the life he leads) no matter what and for his loyalty, which once earned is unquestioning in its steadfastness.

I love Lorne's team because their hearts are in the right place (even if their mouths occasionally don't follow) and because they are not Meant To Be in Atlantis, which is a pretty exciting and interesting posting but that's it.

Yeah, I kept waiting for someone to ask!

I love Lorne because he's got a really dry sense of humour, and for, as domarzione said, his loyalty. And because he's quiet and gets on with things, rather than constantly being in big messy dramas - I have an odd obsession with the second string characters who are just getting on with life, rather than waking wraith and blowing up other planets :o)
