[livejournal.com profile] femgenficathon is opened up for prompts again. Last year, I had what I thought was a brilliant idea for original fic for mine, which turned out not to be, so I didn't write anything for it. The year before that, I wrote Sora after the expedition lets her go, and my first year, Teyla after Atlantis is recalled for what appears to be good.

This year, my prompt is:
82) I really don't think life is about the I-could-have-beens. Life is only about the I-tried-to-do. I don't mind the failure but I can't imagine that I'd forgive myself if I didn't try. -- Nikki Giovanni (born June 7, 1943), African-American author and poet.

I'm thinking either CJ Cregg/Nancy McNally making a run on the presidency in The West Wing, with a campaign staff made up primarily of the women I've loved throughout the show (Donna, Amy, Kate Harper, maybe Liz Bartlett, Joey Lucas...) or Amita, after she decides not to marry Charlie after all, and he goes off to England, becoming the main math consultant for the FBI (led by David, of course, because he becomes interim team leader after Don quits).

Care to express a preference, before I resort to flipping a coin?

It makes me sad that Amita is not more loved. I mean, yeah, she's not my favourite character either, but she seems to inspire a lot of dislike/hate in fandom :(

I still vote for CJ/Nancy McNally though, just because I love the idea of a female-powered presidential campaign!

ETA: Also, I would love to see Liz Bartlet involved in the campaign! She's a natural politician, and my favourite Bartlet daughter!
