I got tagged by the lovely
gelbes_gilatier and while I'm not sure anyone's actually interested in me rambling on about my real life, I'm having happy flashbacks to my student days when we used to circulate these things by email endlessly, and I could use a happy flashback after today.
So...
What song are you currently addicted to?
isagel used it for a John Sheppard fan vid that I found on my hard-drive when I was looking for something else, and now I can't get it out of my head: The Temptation of Adam by Josh Ritter
What's your favorite season?
Autumn-I always think I like summer until it gets here and I spend my time sunburnt and sniffling and generally too hot, and winter would be fine except that everyone turns the heat up too high for what people are wearing, and spring in the UK is dull and wet. Autumn is pretty though (when it's not raining!)
What's the latest movie you watched?
Actual new movie that I hadn't seen before? Star Trek Reboot (yes, long after it actually came out, and yes, I don't watch many movies)
What is the one skill you wish you had?
Only one? I'd love to be able to play a musical instrument but I never managed to get into learning one.
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
I keep thinking I might be done with Stargate, but then it always turns out that I'm really not after all, which is nice. I like Stargate fandom (especially now most of the BNFs who thought it was cool to say how much they hated the show while writing fic for it have moved on and left behind the quirky writers who like the show and don't embrace "we're not gay we just love each other"). And I'm loving watching White Collar, though I'm not particularly into the fandom.
What's your favorite board game?
I'm not really much for board games, but my house in the third year at uni all learnt to play Mah Jong and spent hours doing so. I've never managed to persuade anyone else I know to learn though, and now I suspect I've forgotten most of the rules.
What web sites do you always visit when you go online?
Dreamwidth reading page, LJ friends page, email. Google for whatever I probably opened firefox to find out about. The domestic abuse forum website if I'm at work. Nothing exciting.
What was the last thing you bought?
Scones on my lunch break. Prior to that, a rainbow ribbon at Bristol Pride
If you win 10,000 bucks today, what would you do with it?
Buy a new (actually new, not just new to me) car, and put the rest in my Canada trip fund.
Last concert you went to?
I volunteer at the local concert hall, so I go to a lot of concerts as a volunteer worker. The last one was String Fever, who were good fun - they played Bolero on one cello, for of them at once. The last concert I was in the audience for was Zum, a gypsy tango band, who were completely awesome, and sadly poorly attended because the first England game of the world cup clashed with them
What could be one of the best things to happen to you right now?
Hearing that one of my jobs, which is on a list of possible cuts, is safe for another three years.
What's the last thing that made you happy?
Oh, wrong thing to ask right now. Um... seeing a good friend at Pride, who gave me a hug - most of my friends who hug aren't in Bristol.
Do you want to learn another language?
Yes - sign language. Also Arabic or Hebrew, and I'd love to get better at German - I'm okay, but not really fluent.
Five things you can't live without.
1. My laptop
2. My mum
3. My flat (well, not this flat specifically, but a flat that I don't have to share)
4. Writing
5. My glasses
