04. Favorite color He's a pilot, so blue is kind of a given. Some days, it's the only thing that feels real about Atlantis, the sea and the sky outside

11. Favorite music His mom had The Last Waltz on video, and he played it till the tape wore through. He liked Neil Young, and when he's having a bad day, he finds himself humming, 'Helpless, helpless, helpless,' under his breath, and has to stop for the bad message
12. Biggest fear That one day he'll go back to LA, back to Colby, and Colby won't want him any more. That all the promises don't really mean anything, because they've never actually been together and maybe they don't know what the fuck they're doing
13. Biggest fantasy Getting promoted to full-bird colonel and having Colby there, and not having to call him a friend. He can't wish it for promotion from major - he's not that much of an optimist
14. Quirks in bed He grew up with a lot of people who were very open about sex, and then he joined the air force, which really wasn't. He's not exactly sure it warped him, but he's pretty sure the combination is to blame for how he doesn't totally get the attraction of sex, and is therefore incredibly unimaginative in bed
15. Bad habits Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, so Carson Beckett has to save them when Lorne should be the one doing it. Also, editorialising his own orders when he's worried - it makes him sound crazy
16. Biggest regret He's nearly shot his CO, twice, and while they've become funny with distance, he still wakes up in a cold sweat imagining how it could have gone
17. Best kept secrets That he's glad Atlantis is marines not air force. He doesn't want to be a marine, but he likes their rough and tumble nature, and he likes the bond he and Sheppard have for being the only two air force officers in the place
18. Last thought Sheppard's team is half an hour overdue for check-in, he's been up for 23 hours with an oddly timed mission, and he really isn't up for planning and staging a rescue, not this time
19. Worst sexual/romantic experience See above, filed under "off-world friendship ceremony." Well, recently, anyway. He suspects he's been party to more than one person's worst experience, though at least most of them have been too polite to say so to his face
20. Biggest insecurity That when he gets offered promotion and reassignment back to Earth, he'll make the wrong decision and not even know it until it's too late.

02. Best friend: David, who's the only person who knows some of his worst secrets - the only one he wants to know them - and the one he missed most when he was in jail
03. Sexuality: He's nominally bi, but he's only slept with a couple of women, and he can't really imagine settling down with one, though he kind of hates the thought that he's embodying the stereotype of saying he's bi because he isn't ready to say he's gay yet
04. Favorite color: seriously? he's never thought about it
05. Relationship status: One half of a definitely open long-distance relationship with another man. Which will become a lot less open should the other guy ever come home
06. Ideal mate: he's fairly sure he's already with his ideal mate, even if his ideal mate is too far away to even get on the phone
07. Turn-ons: he's not totally sure what it says about him, but he likes guys like himself, who run five miles for fun and would live on pizza if they could and have regrets but know how to move on. Also, guys with nice smiles.

They ended up sitting on Colby's balcony at four in the morning, drinking, and then ended up having sex out there instead, because Colby knew he hadn't been the only one with a secret, and he knew what it was like to want to tell

Is that a conversation they've had, or is it just a kind of intuitive....thing, that they're open?
It's a conversation, though not one either of them enjoyed, and they neither of them really act on it.

Yeah. And David and Megan have absolutely learned that anything vaguely rap like means an immediate change of the radio station if they're in the car with him

I also think I should stop reading this, and go to bed, because I'm *clearly* reading far too hard into them :) This was a fun insight though.
