02. Best friend His college room-mate, who manages Robertson Steel now. They live on opposite sides of the country and see each other maybe twice a year, but they still rack up huge phone bills
03. Sexuality Straight
04. Favorite color Blue
05. Relationship status Married for ten years, with two children, both girls
06. Ideal mate He thinks his wife is basically perfect, although she's much more like John than like him, more wild and rebellious and prone to dramatic flouncing ends to arguments. His father hated her
07. Turn-ons He loves Andrea when she's angry about something she's passionate about, all fiery eyes and waving hands
08. Last sexual experience He was away for two weeks at a satellite factory, and Andrea called one night after she'd put the girls to sleep.
09. Favorite food Ice cream, specifically black walnut
10. Crushes He's married, he doesn't have crushes. Except maybe a small one on the woman who plays Elizabeth Burke on White Collar, which is Andrea's current favourite show
11. Favorite music He likes old ballroom music. He knows how to dance to it, and Andrea thinks it's romantic
12. Biggest fear That he'll drive away one of his girls the same way his father drove away John. Or that one of his girls will run, the same way John did, and he won't know how to get her back
13. Biggest fantasy Retiring with Andrea to a place in the country to raise horses and spend summers with their grandchildren. It won't happen, because she loves her city life too much for him to take her away.
14. Quirks in bed It doesn't happen much now they have the girls, but he likes sex anywhere other than in bed. It still feels illicit and sneaky
15. Bad habits Saying the wrong thing to John. Not knowing how to say sorry. Pouring coffee over his ice cream
16. Biggest regret That he didn't try harder when John and Dad fell out, and spent years behaving like he didn't have a brother, and worrying that the next time he heard about John, it would be an announcement that he was dead
17. Best kept secrets He's fiarly sure Andrea doesn't know about the trip he's planning for her next birthday. Though he has told the girls, and they're not the best secret keepers in the world
18. Last thought That if he gets on with this last lot of paperwork, he might make it home for dinner, assuming the traffic isn't too bad
19. Worst sexual/romantic experience The time Denise walked in on him and Andrea when they were being unusually loud. Talk about gunshy, after
20. Biggest insecurity Being a bad father, or a bad husband, or a bad brother, even if it's for the right reasons.

I especially like #12 - that Dave is smart enough to learn from his father's mistakes but not so arrogant or judgmental as to think he can easily avoid them.

I think being the one who stayed behind when John fled probably changed him as much as being the one who fled changed John, but maybe in ways that made then more alike than they had been before. Because now John's scared of losing his team, and Dave of losing his kids - both family, though

Though oddly, John's kind of come around to that in the end as well, with his team as his family and so important to him. I'm getting strangely fascinated with Dave
