At first I was going to ask for Rodney McKay. Not because I like the character. The opposite, in fact. But I've always liked the way you don't whitewash his jerkiness or pretend that it's actually believable that the other characters find his selfishness charming (e.g. your recent kink-meme story which has forever ruined any McShep bondage story for me). But then I remembered how much I liked Dave Sheppard in Dreams We Never Expected, so this is a long of saying, Dave Sheppard please?

Wow, you're fast. I love the way you see Dave.
I especially like #12 - that Dave is smart enough to learn from his father's mistakes but not so arrogant or judgmental as to think he can easily avoid them.

I love this portrayal of Dave--so vanilla and normal and regretting his relationship with his brother and not knowing how to fix it. I especially love that his greatest fear is that he'll drive away one of his daughters; it's a nice comment on the character and both his regrets and the importance he places on family (which, I suspect, was one of the issues between him and John).

I encourage your fascination, especially if it leads to writing. :D I love stories about Dave, as long as they don't paint him as a moustache-twirling, one-dimensional villain, because I really don't think he is. Even if he was, in some respects, quite awful to John at the funeral.
