Thing 1: I have an offer up in the [community profile] help_japan auction, which is here. It's pretty non-specific, except in terms of fandoms, so I guess anything goes. Kind of.

Thing 2: I just signed up for this year's remix challenge. I haven't done remix in years, weird.

Thing 3: I so want to write a Hawaii Five-O/SGA crossover, where John gets posted in Hawaii teaching people to fly helicopters after the end of season 5, and he and Steve meet up again when Steve goes home, and it turns out they used to be involved with each other and... I swear, John Sheppard is like some kind of compulsion with me, I can't write anything without him in it.

Thing 4: A meme, because... I don't know why. Just because: Give me a story (and a particular character in it if you want) and I'll tell you three things that didn't make it into the story. For your reference, fic index

I thought you gave up on remixes because they're too stressful? Not that I'm trying to deter you...I always look forward to new fic from you. I'm deciding now whether to sign-up myself.

For the meme, how about Transference or Fall, Fall, Fall?

I signed up. We'll see how it goes. I went straight up Stargate, so I'll probably get a McShepper or something. Well, challenges are good, right? They force you to stretch a little.

I like how everyone is out to protect Lorne here. Especially John. The military (and Atlantis in general) taking care of its own.

Transference, sadly, was like pulling teeth to write, so there isn't anything that didn't make it i

And this is why I gave you a choice! :)

As long as I don't get a PWP writer, I'll probably be fine. I can always background the pairing and write about what everyone else is doing. And if I do get a PWP writer, I'll have to...write it from the POV of people walking past the door. Or maybe from the POV of the furniture.

Actually, it would almost be fun to get one of those poor!stoic!Rodney McShep stories and rewrite it to be more in-character (as per my interpretation of the characters), except that would probably hurt the writer's feelings and I'd rather not do that.

And of course, I could get a John/Cam shipper. Our numbers seem to be growing. :D

The only trick with the walking-by PWP rewrite would be hitting the minimum word count. Though now I'm imagining a PWP written from the POV of the door, which would capture both what's happening in the room, and the reactions of people outside the room...

I think if a story engaged in character-bashing, it's fair to shake it up a bit. And even rewriting poor Rodney could be done in a somewhat subtle fashion. Maybe.
