1. [livejournal.com profile] justbreathe80 wrote an amazing remix of Colonel Magpie for the [livejournal.com profile] gateverse_remix, from Rodney's point of view, except it goes past the end of the sotry and it's just fantastic, and completely made of love: a bird that you must not miss (the nursery rhyme remix).

2. All my students are insane. Their results came out at the end of last week, and it's been nothing but phone calls from them ever since. Which I wouldn't mind, but about one in ten is an actual genuine question, and the rest are all moaning about how they can't believe they failed this exam, and am I sure this result is write (or even right - ouch!), no, really sure... I fear it's only a matter of time before I tell one of them that if they didn't want to take the resit, they should have worked harder during the year.

Fortunately, I'm leaving in a couple of months, so if I do say that, at least they probably can't fire me.

3. So, to counter-act the insanity of students, [livejournal.com profile] yin_again's new meme:

List five things you'd want to see more of...it could be general, like, "More handjobs!" or a specific storyline/AU/pairing, etc. It could become this big positive thing and we'd all get ideas and yay! This could also spawn some recs. You might read one and say, "Hey! I(or someone else I know of) wrote a fic just like that!"

1. It sounds counter-intuitive, cos I think Don't Ask Don't Tell is a ridiculous piece of legislation, but stories where the military characters just get on with being in the military and having same-sex relationships without this being a huge source of angst and drama to them; the idea that they weighed up being in the Air Force against being able to date openly and decided it was worth it, and are now just getting on with dating in secret and doing their jobs. I mean, they're pretty practical, for-the-greater-good people, on the whole.
Obviously, this applies less if they weren't having same-sex relationships when they *joined* the military.

2. Wow, that got long! Um... more John and Rodney friendship moments. Not that I don't love them together as a couple, but I love them being close as friends as well.

3. More kissing and grinning at each other dopily, for every pairing. Of which there's already plenty, but there's no such thing as too much (at least in this case!)

4. More stories about Cam Mitchell. Which, OK, there might be hundreds and I never see them, and I know he came in kind of late in the show, but he's such a good character to write about. He's new to gate travel (well, newish, by now). He still thinks it's cool. He's got a moderately tragic back-story (and a hell of a lot more of a back-story than John Sheppard). Plus, he goes so well with Sheppard.

5. More sneaking off to have sex somewhere inapproriate and likely to end in the characters being caught in an embarrassing fashion by someone they know, with all the in-jokes and teasing that would follow on from that. Particularly if it was Lorne catching John with someone - Lorne would have so much fun with that knowledge, and John would be trying to shrug it off and running away whenever he could, then they'd end up trapped together off-world somewhere and John would make Lorne share an embarrasing secret to even the balance... Not that I've thought about it or anything :)

4. Four, four, what was four going to be... Well, I'm sure it was fascinating, but now we'll never know. Back I got to my [livejournal.com profile] multiverse2004 fic....

ETA: It's not number 4 but [livejournal.com profile] sg_flyboys a shiny new Cam/John community, is hosting a thing-a-thon. Go, sign up!
