I need some stargate women icons - as pretty as Sara Sidle is, she's the wrong fandom :(

So, story #1 for 14valentines, which is actually the story for day 4 is done, and features Rodney McKay explaining just how unpleasant he can make Cam's life if he hurts John. 1 down, 13 to go - eek!

Story #2, of Sora on Atlantis after Teyla finds her and brings her in, is currently at 571 words and has no actual plot, or prospective ending. Hopefully, one will come to me.

It's actually a little unnerving looking at my list of fics I'm going to write for this, since they say things like 'Ford and Stackhouse post-apocalypse' (as part of the Wild Dark Times verse) and 'Jayne and Zoe on a job together' and 'something about the women of season 4' (which, if anyone has any suggestions/prompts/general thoughts, I'd love to hear them, because I really don't want to end up writing about Katie's relatiosnhip with Rodney and how she prefers her partners to let her be in charge in bed and he's not very good at oral sex). At least some of the others have actual plots, even if it is only in my head (unsurprisingly, most of these are the ones with Sheppard/Mitchell as the main pairing).

In addition to trying to work out a plot for my Sora story, I'm also not-working on my essay (that's what weekends are for, right?) and banging my head against the metaphorical wall because I woke up this morning with a snippet of a Sheppard/Mitchell story in my head and went to have a shower instead of writing it down and now have no earthly clue what it was. Seriously, none whatsoever, and it's incredibly frustrating, not least since past experience would seem to suggest that the chances of me remembering in the future are incredibly remote.

So, I've never done this before, and I have no idea if anyone will say anything, but if you could command me to write one thing (sequel, prequel, pairing, situation, vague idea...) for 14 valentines, what would it be? Which is not to say I'll actually write any of them, but I figure I'm going to need some substitute ideas for when the ones with no actual plot fail to turn into actual stories!

Well they do practically write themselves. I'd be totally okay with expansion on comments too. Think of the work that you saved! Because honestly if I could write worth a damn I would never leave my computer.

Oh! I had a brilliant idea for you in the middle of the night! (it's when I have my best ideas actually and bonus I remembered it)I have searched the internet over and I don't think I've ever seen an AU Cam/John story. Now I know half their appeal is that they're both pilots, but I can find McShep AUs anywhere! (in fact AU McShep is the only mcshep I read. Tell no one!) But I haven't seen an AU Cam/John, of course I've seen stories that might mention them in passing or where I guess they were at one point but no longer are. And while your John on SG1 actually is an AU it's not like completely different direction AU. Like if they were doctors, or FBI, or pirates ("wtf renee, pirates?" "Shut up I'm creating!")or hell they could be viper pilots on Galactica ( "That's an even worse idea then the pirates!" "Yes so I embrace it!")! But I just thought it might be an interesting prompt for you.

You mean, like the au where Cam quits the Air Force instead of joining SG1 and John isn't allowed back to Atlantis so Cam entices him away to run a flying school with him? Or, no, I guess you don't actually, you mean *really* au, but I've had that one in my head for months now and wish I had the time to write it. At least partically because it has a bit where they're making out in a patch of sunlight in there room, and the mental image makes me happy.

So you are a tease! Oooo! Space pirates though! I have to ask did you come up with this universe on your own or was it inspiration from something else? I don't actually recognize anything and the whole "captain trapped on the ship" is kinda weird. Although I'm not actually sure I want to read a McShep. I really am iffy about them, because it's practically canon on the show and really it's hard to find somebody who writes them right.

Also maybe, I've found out that Cameron is actually really hard to draw. At least in my style. I keep wanting to have an art revolution, but sadly it never comes.

It came from a combination of things - Penguins and Sparrows was written for the stargate space pirates community, and the captain trapped on the ship came from seeing someone running a 'brain in a jar' challenge. The actual universe is kind of loosely based on Firefly, and actually the whole thing, for all that it has three pairings listed, is incredibly gen (because the Lorne in my head doesn't like to know what the people around him do when they're naked together).

I keep wanting to have an art revolution, but sadly it never comes.

McKay basically molesting the stasis pod was kind twitchy for me, but overall really nice story. I loved Lorne and then Sheppard when he ran around petting the ship.

It's really odd to me to see you say that, because it wasn't meant that way at all, more as him wanting to touch Sheppard because he's worried, and they haven't seen each other for twenty years, and so he's standing there with his hand on the pod because it's the closest he can get. Like all the cheesy movie shots of people touching their hands together through glass when they can't touch in reality for whatever reason.

Okay I see what you mean about that. I wasn't thinking of it that way cause you know. So I apologize. You should maybe have added something like 'Mckay/Sheppard if you squint' Actually I had a random thought the other day. I was thinking of how you said Cam might show up in the Space Pirates story eventually and for some reason I made the connection that somehow Lorne and Cam were going to hook up. I confess I giggled. I've only read one Lorne/Cam story which was by accident cause I didn't know who Lorne was at the time, but it was really good and I ended up saving it. Anyway I mention because like I said it would be kind of amusing.

Something almost totally off the boat. I found a picture the other day and it was in a signature but on it they had a shoulders/headshot of Cam and he was wearing an Atlantis uniform. Now I intend to turn this into an icon anyway but I was wondering if you might know where I can find some more pictures like that even if they're photomaniped or if you know somebody who would do that? Just wondering.
