I hate my apocalypse_kree fic. I can see exactly how it should be in my head, but it's like there's a breakdown somewhere between the picture in my head and the words on my screen. It's incredibly frustrating, because I *like* the story in my head, it totally works, and the one on the screen isn't *right*.

That said, would someone be willing to have a look at it for me, probably in a couple of days? Assuming I don't trash the whole thing before then, of course. It's Cam/John, needless to say :)

Perhaps if you have time, you can take a look at mine later on. I probably won't be done for at least a week, though. (My apocafic is technically gen, but it's going to be pretty easily read as John/Cam pre-slash, I think. I have the final scene in my head, and yeah...they're pretty friendly.)

And yes, that prompt was one of mine, though not (quite) all of the John/Cam prompts were. (Someone else is writing one of the other John/Cam prompts--one of yours?--which is rather exciting. Two new John/Cam stories!)

On the other hand, there's a nice fluffy feeling from being one of a small number of people who get the inherent slashiness of John and Cam. Not like being a John/Rodney person, say, where there's hundreds of them. Of course, at least they never run out of fic to read...

Somehow, I always seems to end up in a minority group when I'm in a fandom that breaks up into these sorts of groups. (*Cue memories of my days as a Janette/Nick fan in the "Forever Knight" fandom.*) But as you say, there is something nice about being part of that little club. And it means I really appreciate every story that gets written.

I do wish they'd bring Cam to Atlantis for an episode, though, just to give me more material for icon-making. Ah well, maybe Ben Browder will kiss Joe Flanigan instead of Michael Shanks at the next convention.

I've said this a million times now, but Ben Browder asked Brad Wright when he was gonna get to go to Atlantis at Comic-Con. I want season six to be green-lighted just for a shot at that.

I too tend to be into the rare-pairings, or, even worse, cross-overs. This is the first time I've ever really gotten into a fandom to the point of regularly interacting with others, so it's cozy to have others sharing your insanity. *cough*Lorne/Granger*cough*

I hadn't heard that! That would be fantastic! Well, depending on how they handled it, I suppose, but I can't imagine them having John and Cam suddenly hate each other or anything, so yeah...fantastic.

I read mcshep, because I like SG and I like slash. I even read Jack/Daniel for a bit. But neither pairing ever really rang true for me. I mean McKay just reads as very straight to me and not the kind of guy John would get in a relationship with anyway.

It is nice to have your only little corner of fandom, but once you can recite all five of the fics by heart, you kinda start wishing a few more people would get on the bus.

Course, it would probably help if I wrote fic of my own.

Hey, feedback/praise is important too. One of the biggest problems for me in writing John/Cam fic (or even gen fic) is how little feedback I get in comparison to the McSheppers. ('Course, that could be a comment on the quality of my writing rather than my choice of pairing, but pairings do seem to matter.)

Have you seen my Big List of John/Cam Fic? There might be something on there you haven't read, to tide you over for a bit. Or if you know of something I've missed, please let me know.

Oh, I am all over that! I'm very excited, especially since I completely missed the last one.

I'm also hoping that the sg_rarepairings ficathon will produce one or two John/Cam stories, but of course, that all depends on the whims of the writers.
