Characters: Steve, Danny, Joe
Rating: PG-13

Title: Orienteering Without A Map
Fandom: SGA/SG1 Dysfunction verse
Pairing: John/Cam, Cam/OMC
Rating: R
Word count: ~10,000
Summary: John leaves, and Cam works at moving on. It gets a lot easier when he winds up in Washington DC

Notes: This is, I think, the end of the dysfunction verse, so here's what you need to know for it to make sense, or a very short summary of several tens of thousand words of fic: after Atlantis flew back to Earth, Jack and Daniel took John to bed in a way that wasn't a very good experience for him. John wound up looking for comfort with Cam, and struggled back on Atlantis, even more so when Cam went missing, then turned up in Atlantis. John left Atlantis, lived with Cam for a little while, and eventually left Cam because being in Colorado Springs wasn't good for his mental health.

[personal profile] skieswideopen is to thank/blame for this fic existing.

I'm looking for something for John to ask Cam to go to/do with him on a Saturday afternoon in Washington as a sort of 'I have to go, but also I kind of want to, come with me?' It's not long after the repeal of don't ask don't tell, so it couldn't be something where they'd be read too easily as partners, I don't think. It's a first date, of sorts, but not explicitly a date.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe it's cos it's nearly 11 on a Friday, but I'm stuck for ideas at this point.

Stolen from [personal profile] rydra_wong and I'm not sure whether I'll have anythingt o say or not, but I figured I'd give it a go:

Give me a character and I will give you some kind of meta about their relationship with their physical body (and/or how that relates to their sex life).

Title: Snow White Furball
Fandom: Hawaii Five-O
Characters: Steve, Danny, team
Rating: G
Word count: 1861
Summary: Steve finds a box of kittens in his truck
Notes: When I was about 12, we stayed in this rundown house my uncle owned in the middle of nowhere in the French countryside, and one day a little yellow kitten came to play and stayed all day. There are dozens of pictures of it somewhere, and I was heartbroken that I couldn't keep it. This story isn't about that, except for how it sort of is.

Hello!

First of all, if you have a great idea for one of the prompts in my sign-up, please write it! I love being surprised.

Otherwise, here's some of the things I like, and some of the things that don't work for me.

I like: queer characters, queer community, women interacting with each other, women mentoring each other, women friendships, male-female friendships, odd-ball friendships that you wouldn't expect. I like happy endings, teasing, cuddling, character study/slice of life fics. I like femslash and gen, I like hurt/comfort and angst, I like gentle humour (not crack-fic), I like case fic. I like women saving the day, saving themselves, saving each other. I like stories about families, both biological and created, I like stories that fill in the background we don't get to see, I like back-story and future fic, I like stories with babies and stories with pets. I like characters having hobbies or skills we wouldn't expect, and not being perfect and that being okay, I like women who have ambition and drive, whatever that's for, I like stories about forgiveness and people caring for each other.

I don't so much like: crack-fic, horror, sad endings. Stories where someone is made out as a bad guy who isn't in canon, stories where anyone is treated as being stupid, stories where the women have to be saved by the men, stories where female characters never speak to another female character, only to men. I don't read het in the fandoms I asked for, and I don't like stories where the female character is pining helplessly for a male character, or where her feelings for male characters are what drive her/the story.

Thank you for writing for me - I'm really looking forward to seeing what you write!

Do you ever feel like there's a story that you want to write, but you don't know what that story is, other than that it's not any of the things you think you want to write? I want to write something about John Sheppard and relationships and sex and friendship and family that might not be with the team, and negotiating an agreement about sex and... But my usual process of just start and see what happens isn't working for me, and it's nagging at me in a frankly irritating fashion :(

Christmas Vacation: While on Christmas vacation in Pegasus with Ronon, John gets stabbed by a unicorn, but there's still a happy ending (in that sense too) (sequel to Hello, Don't Go) (SGA, John/Ronon)

Home For Christmas: Grace is spending Christmas with Danny this year, and Mary wants to come home (Hawaii Five-0, Steve/Danny, Grace, Mary)

I got three lovely stories written for me in holiday exchanges this year:
The Witching Hour (1212 words) by faviconhavocthecat
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Laura Cadman/Teyla Emmagan, Kate Heightmeyer/Elizabeth Weir, Ronon Dex/Evan Lorne
Characters: Laura Cadman, Teyla Emmagan
Summary:

It's midnight on Atlantis and everything's all right.

Moving Day (2045 words) by favicontielana
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Kono Kalakaua, Jenna Kaye, Danny "Danno" Williams, Chin Ho Kelly
Summary:

Kono and the guys help Jenna move into her new apartment. Except that the guys have been delayed and it's just Jenna and Kono.

Restoration (4228 words) by faviconperspi
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Chin Ho Kelly/Steve McGarrett
Characters: Steve McGarrett, Chin Ho Kelly, Mary Ann McGarrett
Summary:

Sometimes restoration comes when you least expect it.

Which means I should really link to the stuff I wrote, but that's going to have to wait for another day - I can't wrap my head around coding all the links today.

To my amazement, I don't have anything I should be writing because there's a deadline coming up (which probably means it's time I got my act together for another round of Cam Trope Fic). Instead, here's a list of things I'm hoping to get written in 2012:

Stargate:
1. The thing I started as a pitch hit for 2010's secret santa, in which John doesn't go back to Atlantis after the Return, and ends up with Cam Mitchell, with a sub-plot about how he was involved with Rodney and it fell apart because Rodney was scared and couldn't get over his insecurities about John having to keep them secret
2. Dysfunction verse future fic, in which John and Cam get their happy ending (and a dog)

Hawaii 5-0:
3. The one where Danny totally knows Steve likes him, doesn't like Steve back and knows Steve knows this, and is trying to avoid talking about it
4. The thing I started which is a post-2.10 AU in which Jenna lives and about her and Lori trying to learn to relate to each other (because to Lori, Jenna's the girl who nearly got her friend killed, and to Jenna, Lori's the girl who stole her spot on the team even if she didn't).
5. Something about Steve and Chin before Steve joined the Navy, and then the awkward conversation about what happens now they're working together years later
6. Sequel to Building Family

Other fandoms:
7. The White Collar AU where Alex is Diana's CI, and Alex and June's daughter get up to criminal high-jinks together while looking hot
8. Firefly: sequel to Gone where Bridget finds Kaylee
9. Possibly something about Ariadne and Philippa in Inception - mainly because that film has far too many men in it, and I want to write about the women
10. Something Colby/David, from Numb3rs, having just watched season 5. Possibly a post-season 6 AU in which David stays and takes over leading the team, and Amita and Colby bond through online role playing games in which she mocks him for being terrible

Plus, I've been saying everywhere that this is going to be the year in which I write my space moles novel, and get upgraded from MPhil to Phd with my studies; start a queer writers group, get paid to run a writing course, volunteer more. Be more involved in activism - I want to start a Lesbian Feminist Collective, because I feel too gay in feminist spaces and too feminist in LGBT spaces, but I don't know how or what we'd do. Of course, the trick might just be to gather people together and see what happens.

So, that should keep me busy :)

Now watch me forget half of what I wanted to say, so, in no particular order:

1. I just wrote two thirds of my assignment today, after putting it off all of yesterday (okay, so I lifted 600 words directly from my research proposal, but it's not like they're irrelevant words!)

2. My cat does not like this whole 'work' thing; she keeps coming and staring at me and meowing until I play with her

3. I want to ask out this girl? To see The Last Waltz, by The Band, possibly my favourite film ever, but one no-one else has ever heard of? Tell me encouraging things, or funny stories about dating please? I've never asked anyone out before!

4. Thinking about signing up to a match making service (in person, not online) as I promised my friend I'd go on one date a month - she's decided it's time I dated, even if I don't meet the love of my life. Has anyone ever tried one of those? How did it go? I've done online dating before, with mixed success, but I thought I might try something new.

5. Survived christmas without murder and with my sanity intact - apparently that whole ignore and change the subject approach really does work, who knew?

Coming up next: half of the Christmas ficlets (I said they'd be new years, right?) Other half to come.

Oh, and before I forget: thank you, [personal profile] somehowunbroken for the card, it was waiting for me when I got home!

1. I've finished my [livejournal.com profile] sg_flyboys fic. Usually I wouldn't even have started it yet. What's going on?!

2. The biro I had in my trouser pocket at work this evening has leaked and I've now got a lovely purple splotch on my thigh - looks like a horrible bruise, weird.

3. [personal profile] skieswideopen, thank you for my card! So lovely, and the first one I received.

Mrr, I was sure I had more things to say when I was mentally writing this post while I was driving home from work. No idea what they were now, of course.

Actually, here are two Hawaii Five-0 fics I posted elsewhere:
Shore Leave: Small world, similar types of partners, it was bound to happen eventually (Steve/Catherin, Kono/Catherine, Steve+Danny friendship)

Leave No Man Behind: A test, an escape, a rescue. Family (goes au towards the end of episode 2.10) (Steve, Jenna gen)

They're definitely looking more likely to be new year than christmas, but would anyone like to put in a last-minute request for a holiday ficlet from me?

The only reason they may take a while is that I'm pretty flat-out until right before christmas, but don't let that stop you requesting - once christmas arrives and things calm down, I'll have loads of time to write, and I love writing these, so the more the merrier.

Fandom, pairing/characters, and a prompt in the comments if you'd like something!

Title: Building Family
Fandom: Hawaii Five-O
Pairings: Chin/Steve, Kono/Jenna
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 3960
Summary: Steve's coming home, and Jenna and Kono are making their own home; touches on Light At The End Of The Tunnel backstory
Notes: Written after I'd only seen episode 1 of season 2, so it doesn't touch on any season 2 canon (hence why there's no Lori, despite me loving her). Written for [livejournal.com profile] h50_exchange

As I was informed today, it's exactly one month until Christmas day (no, I can't believe it either, and if you tell me you've done all your shopping already - well, okay, I'll be quietly impressed, but also slightly rah! as I haven't done any).

Which means: if you'd like a ficlet from me for Christmas/Yule, now is the time to tell me (may be delayed until new year if I don't get my act together fast enough). If you'd like a ficlet, please leave me a fandom, pairing/character/grouping, and prompt if you feel so inclined (or if you'd like to avoid the possibility that I'll write 5-0 dressing up as Santa's elves, or Team Sheppard actually being Santa's elves. I make no promises!)

Since I currently have very little free time (working six days a week plus a couple of evenings) and hence no time to actually write proper fic, have a meme instead, pinched from [personal profile] rhi:

Comment with a story I've written, and I will tell you one thing I knew, learned, or wondered about while writing the story that didn't make it onto the page.

And perfectly timed for people doing NaNoWriMo (which I am not). written?kitten!, where for every hundred words you write (or whatever limit you set it to) you get a picture of a kitten.

Guess what I did while I was in Berlin? Wrote all my kink bingo fics!

To save your friends/reading lists, here are the links to all five:

Just Say...: Jenna and Kono, drugged in a hammock (Hawaii Five-O, Jenna/Kono, drugs)

In My Skin: John, coming back up after (SGA/SG1, John/Cam, master doms slaves & subs)

Making A Baby: John and Cam try acting out a fantasy, but reality intrudes; early WHN verse fic (SGA/SG1, John/Cam, vanilla)
